Three TripAdvisor
KeyTools You Might Not Be Using

TripAdvisor is not “set up and forget channel”. A whopping 74% of the travelers visit TripAdvisor before they make a booking.

TripAdvisor has become, by far, the most frequented hotel and travel website. Approximately 48 million travelers visit TripAdvisor every month.

Many of these people will likely be looking for hotels, and they may even make their final decision based on the review sites ratings. Hotels that receive a lot of positive reviews and have high ratings on TripAdvisor tend to rank higher in search results—which means more bookings.
Let’s return to the question that brought you here:

How can we make the most out of TripAdvisor and optimize our ranking?

1. Use Review Express

With Review Express, you’ll create and send professional-looking emails that encourage guests to write reviews of your property. These emails can be customized with your property’s branding.

There’s also a Review Express dashboard that provides in-depth analysis and tracking to help you fully optimize your campaigns. On average, regular Review Express users see an uplift of 28% in the amount of TripAdvisor reviews for their property

How To Use Review Express

Step 1: Collect Guest E-mail Addresses
To use Review Express, the first step is to gather your guests’ information during their checkout process. This includes collecting their email addresses and permission to share feedback with you

Step 2: Setup Review Express Campaign
Go to www.tripadvisor.com/ReviewExpress, type in your property name and click “Create Email” from the top menu bar.

The “Create Email” area is where you configure the email Review Express sends to guests. The first time you use it, it will default to Tripadvisor’s template in your language—just click “Edit” button to customize each element

Pro Tip: To have the most success, send targeted messages to guests in the languages they speak. TripAdvisor has templates available for about 30 different languages—you can use these templates even if you don't know other languages.

After you have modified your template, click the “Continue to send” button to move on.

Step 3: Send E-mail

In this step, you’ll choose the email addresses that belong to guests on your list. If some of them speak different languages from yours, be sure to create a new message for each one and upload just their email address into it.
